I blame my friend D for this.
She messaged me on Facebook one day to ask if I had heard of Jason Wu and his collaboration with Target. I hadn't, so I Googled it and was instantly drawn into the world of high-end designer/low-end retailer collaborations. Jason Wu for Target. Derek Lam for Kohl's. Christian Siriano for Payless. The allure of great fashion combined with the affordability of these retailers completely changed my attitude toward clothing. I was hesitant at first because I'm one of those people who keep clothing forever. A few weeks ago, I realized I still have the Gap knit top I wore in my high school sophomore year photo. I was 14 (I'm over 30 now). So clearly I didn't feel that I needed more clothes based on sheer numbers, but in reality my wardrobe was in desperate need of an update. What started as an update turned into an extreme makeover, and I've been having a lot of fun along the way!
I'm starting this blog mostly to keep an archive of how I've been styling these outfits in case I forget how to wear them. Right now I'm thinking I might also include some product reviews and jewelry pics (aside from clothing/shoes/purses, jewelry is my other major obsession). Who knows?
